Opportunities for Worship

Public worship is the most visible expression of the life of the church in the world. Each week the church gathers in services of worship in which the people of God express their praise and thanksgiving to God in prayer, song, offerings, reflection upon the Word of God and the celebration of the sacraments. These services of worship take place in our 600 seat sanctuary. The services are led by both professional and lay leaders as they call forth a rich array of talents from the people of God for the glory of God.

Opportunities for worship are as follows: (note: a staffed crib-room and nursery is provided during all services of worship).

  • 8:00 a.m. Sunday Worship: For a more casual and intimate worship experience, duplicate of the 10:30 service minus the “Children’s Moment with the pastor.”

  • 10:30 a.m. Sunday Worship: Traditional worship for children and adults, including “Children’s Moment with the Pastor” and occasional extra music and drama.

  • Monthly Saturday Worship: A casual, contemporary, Christ-centered worship service taking place the second Saturday of each month at 6pm. There will be different types of music each month and a variety of media to communicate the theme. The April 2010 service will be on the third Saturday.

  • Communion/Lord’s Supper: is celebrated during all services of worship on the first Sunday of each month and on Maundy Thursday (Holy Week).

  • Special Services of Worship: include Christmas Eve Services, Lenten studies in the sanctuary, Maundy Thursday, Community Good Friday service, a service of healing and wholeness, and a Community-wide Thanksgiving Eve.

Worship Support Ministries: NLPC is always in need of volunteers for our services of worship to serve in the following areas: ushers, greeters, sound-booth helpers, liturgists (lay readers) , and communion preparation and clean-up. If you are interested in volunteering your help in any of these areas, please express your interest to either of the worship elders, the pastors, or use the volunteer form.

Thanks!
